Daily Deity was set up to be a personal side-project to help me cope with the pressures of finishing grad school and writing a thesis. The idea is that every day, I’ll post a sketch of a deity of some sort — gods, goddesses, demigods, demons, mythical figures, sprites, etc. That’s pretty much it. I chose the topic because I’m a big mythology geek.
All sketches are done relatively quickly, mostly in ballpoint pen with a few finishing lines in Micron. This leaves me little room to correct mistakes and allows me to focus on producing a quick sketch, without worrying about anything too much.
Nice Erik! I wish I had a music outlet that could serve the same purpose….hmmm
I really appreciate you sharing this work. The sketches are amazing, and, as a huge mythology geek myself, a wonderful way to revisit old myths. Thanks!
Thanks Eric! It’s a fun project that has not been as steady as I’d like it to be, but as a “side project,” that’s how it has to go. Keep checking back!
